Springs earns As on small business survey - Colorado Springs ...

Colorado Springs is among the nation?s best cities for small businesses, according to thumbtack.com.

The city earned a No. 1 ranking for the friendliness of its environmental regulations.

The thumbtack.com rankings surveyed job creators and entrepreneurs to investigate the best places in the country to do business.

The survey took two months and covered more than 6,000 small business owners nationwide.

Colorado Springs earned A?s for the ease of starting a business and for its regulatory regime.

Other findings from the report:

- South central Colorado?s small businesses are the state?s healthiest.

- Women-owned businesses are more comfortable economically than their male counterparts. Women entrepreneurs were 14 percent more like to rate their company?s current economic situation as ?good,? or ?very good.?

- Small businesses run by conservatives seem to be doing better financially than small businesses run by liberals. Conservative entrepreneurs were 39 percent more likely to rate their business as ?good? or ?very good.? ?
