I love the blog http://ohhappyday.com// for stuff like this. I made teeny-tiny party hats for all my son's plastic animals for his second birthday, and it was ridiculously cute.

There is a ton you can do with streamers, if you can get 'em. I used paper lanterns, cheap tiny baskets and streamers and made a sort of "hot air balloon rainbow race" along our living room ceiling. I don't have great pictures, but here's a somewhat decent one -

Stick with the color theme you have going, don't over think, and it will look great.
