Ohio gas prices back up to start week

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- The roller coaster that is Ohio gas prices is climbing back up.

The state average for a gallon of regular gas was $3.65 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and Wright Express. That's an increase of 28 cents from last week.

Experts say the spike is due to conflicting signals about the strength of future demand, slowing China growth and plunging U.S. fuel stockpiles.

The Ohio price is 4 cents above national average of $3.61, which is 14 cents higher than the national average a week ago.

The cheapest average gas price in Ohio Monday was $3.55 in the Youngstown-Warren area.
